What would you do if presented with the opportunity to make a large sum of money off of another person injuring themselves? Well, that’s what this tale is about. A poker player betting against his friend that he could run 70 miles in a single day. Take the trip through the process and the psyche of the ‘friend’ and follow along as the day runs by.

Poker is a dangerous game and it can be incredibly costly if you’re not playing up to par. I have created this flowchart for myself which I am going to print out and carry with me whenever I decide to play. I’ve wasted too many thousands (yes, thousands), while playing less than my A-game. If this can help one person (it damn well better help me), then it was worth the countless hours I spent slaving away at making this high-tech flowchart.

Made 25 euro playing in a poker room, nearly lost my the 170 I sat with, heh. Tis how it goes.

Anyhow, I just wanted to post this photo quickly before I pack up, it’s from the train ride to Krakow from Torun.

The tournament where I am featured is playing tonight at 7pm on Rogers Sportsnet West. But forget about me, watch the Habs! GO HABS GO!

Alright, for those of you that do not know me personally, I took down the UB Starlight Tournament in November 2009. This tournament was the largest charity tournament in Canadian history. I did an interview with the Montreal Gazette (which is seemingly unavailable, but was available last time I checked before today) titled “Poker champ shares loot with his buddies” as well as another interview with The Link at Concordia; my favourite newspaper.

I’d been holding off on this article until the video came out, but who knows how long that will be! In the meantime, you can check out a few clips that the youtube account of UB has posted. For whatever unknown reason, there is only parts 2 and 3 available.
