Follow me, friend me, cause this blog is sleeping.

by on Sep.13, 2011, under Life, Marketing

I’m on Google+ and I’m on Facebook. If you want to know about what’s going on in my life, you can follow me, you can friend me, you can email me too!

If you haven’t noticed, this blog has slowed to a halt. And there are several reasons. One, I’m focusing on crafting my dream, the ethical marketing firm known as Honestly Marketing.

Two, Google+ does a lot of what I’m capable of doing here and don’t need to be double-posting.

Three, you learn a lot more by listening than by speaking. I share a lot of quality articles, music and videos, but often enough, they’re good enough to speak for themselves, and so I let them and just share them directly. So jump into the future and follow all of your favourite rock stars on G+!

YOU’RE DONE!

(optional) Step 3: Comment on the photo why don’tcha!

(optional) Step 4: Return to Community Connect and ‘unlike’ fan page.

One minute of your time and two clicks of the mouse for a photo close to my heart!

What the hell did I just do? : I’m entered to win a trip to Israel and need all the likes my friends can muster! So please please please share this!

But more than anything, my photo has been selected as part of the top 50 from photos from all over the world and I’d be incredibly proud if I could say it made it to the top 10.

More about this photo:

“Mourning Soldier” displays one of our own soldiers walking away, off to perform his duty to protect his country. After wandering the cemetery and reading the stories of some of the soldiers that were killed, it became obvious that everybody in Israel is all too familiar with death. It has touched every single person in the country. Everybody knows someone who has been killed, and that’s a harsh reality to be forced to live with as a culture. The Israeli people are incredibly strong and have tough exteriors. It was at this moment that I fully understood why. Watching our friend walk away evoked a powerful symbolism that I felt for the country. A flourishing country sometimes needs to sacrifice to keep it growing. The trees and flowers ring true that this cemetery is a place for the celebration of life so much moreso than a harbinger of death.

While on Birthright, I decreed myself ‘the photographer’ and was quite shutter happy. In the ten days, I snapped somewhere in the region of 1000 photos with my DSLR. I narrowed it down to about 500 to share with the gang on facebook and then further narrowed it down to about 25 that I find of the higher quality. From that, I chopped it down to 11 or 12 and went through a very difficult process to discern how I best wanted my work to display what I felt in Israel.

Here are my top 25!

Trust me, I hate having to send this even more than you hate receiving this. You have probably never received anything like this from me, take note of that and do this for me this one time, I will be forever grateful.

Voting ends March 7th, 2010.

I love you all and thank you so much to whoever you forward this to! Please please please forward this for me! I really appreciate it!
